This time, due to an interpreting assignment, I had the chance to accompany a client to Suzuka Circuit Park, which is conveniently located just an hour from Nagoya, and also stayed at the Suzuka Circuit Hotel!

Although I had visited Suzuka Circuit twice before to participate in the road relay race (Enduro), I honestly had no idea there was such a fun, race-themed amusement park right next to the circuit. It wasn’t until this business trip that I discovered how perfect this place is, not only for families with kids, but also for adults who want to have a blast. It immediately made its way onto my future travel list for when I have children!

So thanks to hitching a ride with the client, I’m here to share everything you need to know about Suzuka Circuit Park, from the go-kart experience on a real F1 track, to how to get there from Nagoya, and insights into the Suzuka Circuit Hotel. If you’re visiting Nagoya, don’t just think of LEGOLAND, Suzuka Circuit Park is definitely worth considering too!

About Suzuka Circuit

Founded by Honda Motor Co. in 1962, Suzuka Circuit (鈴鹿サーキット) became Japan’s first professional racing track. It’s not just a major venue for international motorsport events, but also a sprawling leisure complex. Within its grounds, you’ll find the F1-grade racetrack (used for F1, Super GT, and more), a driving school, hotel, campground, resort facilities, and the family-friendly Motopia theme park, which both racing fans and kids can enjoy to the fullest.

Because of the track’s fame, many people, myself included, tend to associate Suzuka only with F1 racing. Few realize that there’s a whole amusement park right next door, specially designed for families and racing enthusiasts alike. This visit really opened my eyes, Suzuka isn’t just a destination for motorsports fans, it’s a place where everyone, from kids to adults, can have an amazing time.

Suzuka Circuit’s main area houses one of Japan’s premier F1 tracks. Outside of race days, visitors can purchase tickets to enter and explore the park, enjoying views of the track even when no races are scheduled.

Major races usually take place in the afternoon, and race-day tickets often include both event admission and an amusement park passport, which allows unlimited access to rides and attractions. That’s why many race-goers spend the morning at Motopia, enjoying the rides, grabbing lunch, and doing some shopping, then head over to the grandstands in the afternoon for the main event. It’s the perfect way to spend a full and exciting day at Suzuka!

Real F1 Track Go-Kart Experience (Circuit Challenger)

During non-race days, the amusement park offers a real F1 track go-kart experience called Circuit Challenger, giving everyday motorsport fans the rare chance to feel what it’s like to speed through a professional circuit. Driving a go-kart on an actual F1-grade track is an adrenaline rush, you’ll feel the thrill of high-speed cornering and get a taste of what it’s like to be an F1 driver!

❗️If you’re visiting in winter, be sure to wear gloves and a scarf, the wind can be absolutely brutal out there!

At the end of the experience, you’ll receive a personalized racing data sheet with your performance score, such a fun and memorable keepsake! (Can you believe I only got a 48.6? That’s embarrassingly low!)

They often sell out quickly, unless you get in line early in the morning, it’s easy to miss your preferred time slot. So I highly recommend booking online in advance to secure your spot.

30+ Interactive Attractions for Hands-On Fun

Motopia, the amusement park at Suzuka Circuit, is incredibly family-friendly and packed with over 30 interactive attractions. Many of them allow kids to get behind the wheel themselves, whether it’s driving mini race cars or operating different mechanical devices.

This isn’t just a place to watch or ride passively. Kids here can actually take control, and I was genuinely surprised by how much freedom they’re given! Every attraction encourages active participation, making it an amazing space for hands-on learning and fun.

Mission-Based Games & Interactive Challenges

What I loved most is how many rides come with mini missions or scoring systems. Take the Bun Bun Bee (ぷんぷんはち) attraction, for example, kids play the role of bees collecting nectar! They use a joystick to fly up to flowers, and once they succeed, a light on the control panel lights up. Super cute and clever!

Another attraction, Acro-X Evolution (アクロエックス エボリューション), is a driving skills test. Bumping into the course barriers deducts points, while a clean run adds points—just like a real driver’s test.

Driving License Reward

After completing the ride, kids receive a fun little driver’s license with their score. High scorers can even earn an S-rank or A-rank license, such a rewarding and memorable souvenir!

Facilities for New Moms & Families

What makes this park even more impressive is how baby- and parent-friendly it is. There are stroller parking areas, ramps, nursing rooms, and even stroller rental services. Traveling with young kids here is surprisingly stress-free!

Not Just for Kids – Adults Can Have Fun Too!

While most attractions are designed for kids, there are also plenty of thrilling rides for adults, including roller coasters and high-speed race simulations. I have to admit, even I got hooked!
